Dear Yuletide Author
I am very happy that you offered to write for me! Getting to read a rare, new story will be great! Here are a few suggestions that you don't have to follow, naturally, but that I nevertheless hope will be helpful to you:
I am comfortable reading slash, het and gen. Any rating you feel is most fitting for the story you want to write is fine. Things I am not a fan of:
- Characters cheating on partners or willfully betraying friends
- "breaking up and making up"
- mpreg
- violence or coercion as the sole point of the story.
If we were matched for Perry Moore's Hero, yay! I got the book for Christmas two years ago and have wanted a yuletide fic for it ever since. It's your story to write, but I would love a glimpse of the future with the three of them as a family, or some fleshing out of Goran's and his little brother's backstory. If you aren't comfortable writing the war part, their beginnings in the U.S. would be great, too.
If we were matched for The Unusuals, yay! Among the things I would love to read something about Alvarez doing good work and getting recognition for it, or about Shraeger and Walsh a few years down the line as partners and (gasp!) only ever platonic friends. On a more depressing note, I'd also like to know what happens as we get closer to Delahoy's death - does he ever actually tell anyone, does someone figure it out, does he just die on his colleagues out of the blue?
If we were matched for Terry Pratchett's Nation, yay! I would love to read more about Cahle and the other female characters of Mau's new Nation. Something about Henry's first months as king would be great, too.
If we were matched for Pratchett's Discworld, yay! Both Tears of the Mushroom and Mr.Nutt intrigued me a lot when I read the recent books.
I would love to read a take of the concert in Snuff and its aftermath from Tears of the Mushroom's point of view. A take on Nutt's and Glenda's quest to find the orcs and/or building a life together would be great, as well.
I hope this helps you along, dear mystery Author!
Looking forward to the day AO3 crashes because Yuletide is on,
